General information

Due to the entry into force of the amendment to the Law on Information Society Services (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the express consent of the user of all websites that use cookies before they browse them.

What are cookies?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels, are tools used by Web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the proper operation of the site.

The use of these devices allows the Web server to remember certain data concerning the user, such as their preferences for viewing the pages of the server, name and password, products that interest them most, etc.

Cookies subject to the regulation and exempted cookies

According to the EU directive, the cookies that require the user’s informed consent are analytical cookies and advertising and affiliation cookies, with the exception of those of a technical nature and those required for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user.

What type of cookies are there?

According to their ownership
  • First-Party Cookies: Those sent to the user’s terminal device from computer or a domain managed by the publisher from which the service requested by the user is supplied.
  • Third-Party Cookies: Those sent to the user’s terminal device from computer or a domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that will process the data obtained from the cookies.
According to their duration
  • Session Cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website.
  • Persistent Cookies: Those in which the data is stored in the terminal device and can be accessed and processed for a period of time defined by the cookie’s owner, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
According to their functionality
  • Necessary Cookies: are those essential for the proper operation of the website. They do not collect any type of user data but information such as language preference, whether the cookie policy has been accepted, etc.
  • Analysis Cookies: Those which, either processed by the owner or by third parties, enable quantification of the number of users and thus to carry out measurements and statistical analysis of the usage of the service. For this purpose, browsing on the website is analysed so as to improve the offer of products or services we provide.
  • Advertising or Marketing Cookies: These allow the management, in the most effective manner possible, of the advertising spaces that, if applicable, the publisher has included in a website, application or platform from which the requested service is supplied, according to criteria such as the content edited or the frequency the adverts are displayed.
  • Behavioural Advertising or Personalised Marketing Cookies: Those which enable management, in the most effective manner, of the advertising spaces that the editor may have included in a website, application or platform from the time the requested service is supplied. These cookies store information about the behaviour of users obtained from continuous observation of their browsing habits, which enables the development of a specific profile so as to display publicity according to the profile. It is also possible that on visiting a website or opening an email where an advertisement or promotion of certain products or services is published, a cookie may be installed on the browser that is subsequently used to display publicity related to the search carried out, to develop a control of the advertisements with regard, for example, to the number of times they are viewed, where they appear, at what time they are seen, etc.
